Rotary Re-Branding Exercise
You will probably recall that in 2013 Rotary International held a re-branding exercise, introducing the new all yellow Rotary Wheel and stating that it could only be displayed with the word ’Rotary’ to the left.
Last year the RI President, Holger Knaack, personally sent an email to all Fellowships instructing them to comply by 31st December. I started to have a conversation with RI staff and I discussed the proposal with our IEC. I pointed out that with over 3,500 members, the cost of any re-branding and replacing of regalia would have to be borne by RI, in common with any other organisation who changes their uniform. I also pointed out that our flags are used as identification of the organisation to which we belong and, therefore, we would not be removing the Rotary Wheel from them. I have not received any further communication from them.
However, we have agreed to their proposal for our logo, which will have to go on our website and can be used as a letterhead. If we do not agree with it, we will not be awarded a booth in the House of Friendship at the RI Conventions., so really we have little choice.
I hope this will cause us minimum disruption, while agreeing with the RI proposal. The correct format of the new logo for IYFR is shown above
