Turkish Region Goes It Alone Again
The Turkish fleets originally formed a Turkish Region all on their own, but when the Israel Fleet was chartered, it joined them. They were then joined by the first Greek fleet, the Hellenic Ionian Fleet when it was chartered, and subsequently by the next two Greek fleets, in what was then renamed the Turkey, Israel and Greece Region. However, the Turkish fleets have now decided to go on their own again as a Turkey Region, with Cengiz Sonmez as their Regional Commodore. Israel and Greece will remain together in an Israel and Greece Region, with Gidi Yanai as their Regional Commodore for the remainder of this Rotary year.
