An Opportunity to Visit the Gulf of Tigullio
The Italian Region of IYFR is pleased to inform all mariners that it has signed an agreement with Marina di Chiavari Calata Ovest (http://www.calataovest.it/) providing special discounted rates for sail and power boats flying the IYFR burgee.
This is the first agreement with Tigullio Shipping, a company managing 14 marinas in Italy (and one in Tunisia), and we plan to extend the agreement to all their marinas.
For all IYFR mariners (not just Italians) the agreement provides for boats flying the IYFR burgee:
• a discount of 10% (ten percent) for moorings between Friday to Sunday inclusive
• a discount of 15% (fifteen percent) for moorings between Monday to Thursday inclusive
• a free day after three consecutive days of mooring.
This opportunity was created during an IYFR event in Chiavari. This is a pleasant town in the Tigullio Gulf, close to Rapallo, Santa Margherita and Portofino in the West , and to the Cinque Terre in the East. From Chiavari visitors can also easily reach Genoa and the Cinque Terre (Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore) by train. This is one of the most evocative Italian coastal regions with its famous villages by the sea. It is also just 30 minutes from Genoa international airport.
Marina di Chiavari at Calata Ovest, located at the entrance to the harbour of Chiavari, has about 150 berths for boats between 8 to 24 meters, and is one of several marinas in Chiavari. Anyone interested in making use of these discounted rates to transit or berth in the area can contact the Regional Commodore for Italy for help and direction.
